The 9 Hole Scotchie is a Two-Player Team, one male & one female, with tee times starting at 4:00 p.m. Players have the option to pick their own partner, or they can sign up in the Golf Shop on their own and staff will do their best to find you a partner. What is a Scotchie? Good question. Format goes like this;. Both players tee off, men from the white tees women from the green, the team then selects one of those two shots and alternates hitting the one ball until a single ball is holed out for one team score. That process is followed on every hole, with no required amount of tee shots per player. The event is a net tournament, with tee team handicaps being the two individual 9 hole handicaps of the players combined and divided by two. So, if there is a 10 handicap player and a 8 handicap player that would be 10 + 8 = 18 18/2 = 9. That would be that team’s handicap. Players will post their 18 hole score and the team handicap is subtracted. It is much less complicated then it sounds.
